Bottom vermiculite fire brick set for the Hi-Flame Alpha 3 (AL910) stove. The base bricks sit on the floor of the firebox, protecting the steel base from direct contact with burning fuel and insulating the combustion zone from below. They are a wear item and should be replaced when cracked through or breaking apart.

The base bricks raise the fuel bed slightly off the steel floor and distribute the heat load across a larger surface, protecting the stove and improving combustion. Keeping the full brick lining intact across the base, sides, and rear ensures the firebox works as designed and extends the working life of the stove body.
