The glass seal on the Hi-Flame Alpha 1 runs around the perimeter of the stove glass panel, creating an airtight joint between the glass and the door frame. When the seal flattens or breaks down, excess air enters around the glass, disrupting the airwash system and allowing soot to build up on the panel. This kit includes everything needed for a complete glass seal replacement.

A good glass seal does two jobs: it prevents air bypassing the airwash system, which keeps the glass cleaner, and it stops heat radiating from the edges of the glass panel where it can cause uneven thermal stress. Replacing the glass seal at the same time as the glass is recommended for best results.
