The baffle plate in the Hi-Flame Alpha Inset stove sits above the firebox as a throat plate, slowing combustion gases as they pass through the chamber and directing heat away from the flue outlet to improve efficiency. Inset stoves often run for longer periods as primary heating appliances, which means the baffle plate is subject to sustained thermal cycling. This replacement is cast to the original Alpha Inset dimensions.
