The grate rod connects to the riddling mechanism on the Baby Gabriel and allows you to rotate the centre grate to break up ash and maintain airflow through the fuel bed. A bent or broken rod makes riddling impossible, causing ash to build up and reducing burn efficiency. This is a direct replacement for the Olymberyl Baby Gabriel stove.
