The fire fence is the cast iron log retainer for the Blacksmith Artisan Boiler inset stove. It sits at the front of the firebox and prevents logs and solid fuel from rolling forward against the door glass when the door is opened for refuelling. Replace it if the original is cracked, warped, or missing.
