The side fire brick set for the Blacksmith Bellows replaces the left and right vermiculite liners in the firebox. Side bricks insulate the stove walls and reflect heat back into the fire, which helps maintain firebox temperature and supports more complete combustion. This set covers both side positions in one purchase.

Side bricks that have cracked through to the stove body should be replaced to prevent heat damage to the firebox walls. Normal surface crazing is expected and harmless. Inspect the bricks when servicing the stove each season and replace any that show full-depth cracking or significant physical damage from contact with logs or riddling tools.
