The Blacksmith Forge Rear Fire Brick is a single-piece vermiculite insulation brick that lines the back of the firebox in the Blacksmith Forge stove. Fire bricks need replacing when cracks or breaks expose the steel bodywork behind them to direct flame contact, which can cause permanent damage to the stove shell over time.

Vermiculite fire bricks insulate the firebox walls, reflecting heat back into the fire and keeping combustion temperatures high. A cracked rear brick that goes unreplaced can warp the steel bodywork or crack a cast iron panel. Remove the fire fence and top baffle to access and replace the rear brick.
