The soft-weave, fire-proof fibreglass rope beds neatly into the channel to stop unwanted air leaks, while the included high-temperature adhesive bonds it securely. A short length of sealing tape is supplied to cap the rope ends cleanly and prevent fraying during fitting. If your Pioneer 400 is racing even with the air closed, the flames look wild, or you can see smoke staining around the door, it’s time to replace the rope.

Fitting notes (quick guide)

1. Remove the old rope and scrape out any remaining cement/adhesive. Vacuum the channel clean.

2. Dry-lay the new rope around the channel without stretching it; mark and cut to length.

3. Tape the rope ends to prevent fraying, then apply a thin, even bead of adhesive in the channel.

4. Press the rope in firmly all the way round, join the ends neatly, and close the door for a couple of hours to set.

5. Do a paper-strip test: close the door on a slip of paper—mild resistance all around means a good seal (adjust latch tension if needed).
