The glass rope seal runs around the inside of the door frame on the Elessar, forming a seal between the ceramic glass and the cast-iron surround. When the flat rope flattens out or deteriorates, excess air bypasses the glass and the stove loses efficiency. This kit provides a complete glass rope seal replacement with adhesive and sealing tape included.

A fresh glass rope seal keeps the air-wash working correctly by channelling air down the inner face of the glass to keep it clean. It also prevents excess air ingress that can cause overfiring and uneven burning.
