The top cleaning access plate on the Elessar stove provides access to the internal flue ways and combustion chamber from above, making it possible to sweep and clean the baffles and heat exchanger surfaces without dismantling the stove. It is a large, heavy cast component that can crack or warp with repeated thermal cycling over many years of use.
