The front brick sits at the front of the firebox on the Hi-Flame Graphite 10 stove (GR910), just behind the door opening. Made from vermiculite, it insulates this high-wear area and helps direct heat back into the combustion zone. Replace when the brick cracks through or crumbles.

The front brick is positioned close to the door and experiences significant thermal cycling as the door is opened and closed. Keeping it intact maintains the correct firebox shape and prevents heat from reaching the door frame and glass surround.
