The bottom fire brick set forms the floor of the firebox on the Hi-Flame Graphite 8. These vermiculite bricks sit either side of the grate carrier frame and take the brunt of fuel and ash contact over thousands of fires. Replace them when cracks start to expose the steel beneath, which can lead to rust and heat damage to the stove base.

Vermiculite is the standard material for stove fire bricks because it insulates well, reflects heat back into the firebox, and is light enough to handle easily. A full base brick set ensures proper combustion conditions and protects the stove floor during normal use.
