The flue collar for the Hi-Flame Graphite Inset creates the connection point between the top of the stove and the flue pipe. It provides a sealed joint that keeps combustion gases on the correct path out through the chimney. Corrosion, warping, or physical damage to the collar can allow smoke and gases to escape into the room at the joint.
