The ash pan on the Hi-Flame Graphite Inset Non-Boiler slides beneath the grate to catch ash as it falls through, keeping the base of the firebox clear and maintaining good airflow from below. A cracked, buckled, or missing ash pan makes emptying the stove messy and can restrict the primary air supply. Replacing it restores clean and straightforward ash removal.
