The baffle plate for the Hamco Glenbarrow stove is a cast iron throat plate that sits above the fire and slows the upward flow of combustion gases. By keeping heat inside the firebox longer it improves fuel efficiency and prevents excessive heat from damaging the flue components above. This part should be inspected at the start of each heating season and replaced if cracked or heavily corroded.
