The baffle plate for the non-boiler version of the Hamco Glendine sits above the fire and slows the movement of hot gases through the stove, keeping heat in the combustion chamber for longer before it exits up the flue. This improves efficiency and reduces the surface temperature of the flue liner. Replacing it when cracked or warped restores proper airflow control.
