The log retainer bars on the Henley Aran stove form a cast iron guard inside the firebox that prevents logs from rolling forward and pressing against the glass door. Without this guard, direct contact between burning fuel and the glass can cause thermal shock and cracking. This set of three bars is the genuine replacement for the Aran.

Log retainer bars also help support the fuel load and encourage a more even burn by keeping logs positioned toward the rear of the firebox. They are subject to significant heat and mechanical stress and should be inspected periodically for cracking or significant warping.
