The ash pan handle tool for the Henley Blasket hooks onto the ash pan and lets you slide it out for emptying without touching hot metal directly. The Blasket runs at high output as a boiler stove, so the ash pan and surrounding components retain significant heat even between burns. Using the correct tool is a straightforward precaution against burns during routine maintenance.
