The baffle plate for the Henley Blasket is a cast iron component that fits above the fire and redirects combustion gases through the firebox before they exit up the flue. This slows the burn and increases the amount of heat transferred to the room. The Blasket is a large multi-fuel stove, and a fully functional baffle plate is essential to achieving the heat output it is rated for.

A sagging or cracked baffle is a common cause of overheating in the upper section of the stove body and in the flue connector. When combustion gases take the direct route to the flue rather than passing over the heat exchanger surfaces, efficiency drops and flue temperatures rise. Replacing the baffle plate addresses both problems.
