These are the front fire bricks for the older version of the Horse Flame Elessar stove. They sit beneath the fire fence at the base of the firebox, protecting the steel bodywork from direct flame contact. Replace them when you see cracks that expose the stove's inner casing.

Vermiculite fire bricks act as a thermal shield between the fire and the stove body. Cracked or missing bricks allow heat to reach the steel or cast iron directly, which can cause irreversible warping or cracking of the bodywork. Fitting a new set early is far less costly than replacing a side panel.
