The grate frame for the Horse Flame Regis is the outer cast iron carrier that supports the riddling grate and holds the bottom firebox assembly in place. Like all cast iron grate frames, it is subject to gradual degradation from thermal cycling and physical stress. A cracked or warped frame prevents the inner grate from seating correctly.

Replacing the grate frame requires removing all inner grate components with the stove fully cold. Once fitted, the inner grate and riddling mechanism should seat properly and the ash pan should clear cleanly after riddling.
