The L bracket and screw is the small steel retainer that holds the internal fire bricks in position inside the Olymberyl Maximus firebox. Without it, the bricks can shift during use, leaving gaps that expose the cast iron body to direct flame and accelerating wear. Replace it if the original has been lost or damaged during a brick replacement.
