The Olymberyl Aidan Ash Door closes the ashpit opening at the base of the stove, through which ash from the grate falls into the ash pan below. It also serves as a secondary air control on multi-fuel stoves. Replacing a damaged or warped ash door restores the ash compartment seal and helps maintain correct airflow through the grate.

The ash door on the Aidan sits in the lower section of the stove body and takes significant heat over its lifetime. A door that no longer closes flush allows uncontrolled under-grate air, which disrupts combustion and can cause the stove to overfire. A direct replacement brings the airflow management back under proper control.
