The rear fire brick lines the back wall of the Hi-Flame Precision 5902 firebox, taking the most direct heat from the fire and protecting the steel or cast iron behind it. The rear brick tends to wear faster than the side bricks and is the most commonly replaced individual brick in this stove. Replacing it when cracked prevents heat damage to the stove body.
