The top baffle for the Hi-Flame Precision 5902 is the upper of two baffle plates in this stove's firebox. It sits above the lower baffle and provides the final deflection of hot gases before they enter the flue, slowing their exit and pushing heat into the room. Like any high-temperature component, it should be checked annually and replaced when warped or cracked.
