The grate rod connects the external riddling handle to the inner circular grate on the Warrior Gabriel stove, allowing you to shake ash down through the grate into the ash pan without opening the door. If the rod bends, snaps, or detaches, the riddling mechanism stops working and ash builds up on the grate, restricting airflow and reducing burn efficiency.
